Beanie Bellies: the squishy side of the Ty family
Share
Everyone knows Beanie Boos. The Beanie Bellies are their younger siblings, and in plenty of households they have quietly become the favourites.
The clue is in the name. A Beanie Belly is built around a soft, squishy, under-stuffed tummy, so instead of the upright, wide-eyed posture of a Boo, a Belly slumps. It flops. It sits on a bed like it has had a long day. Where a Boo asks to be displayed, a Belly asks to be squeezed, and for a lot of kids that is exactly the job a plush toy is for.
That difference matters more than it sounds. If the child you are buying for is a squeezer, a carrier, a falls-asleep-holding-it kid, the Belly is the better pick. The squish is the point. Boos tend to win with collectors who like their characters sitting up straight on a shelf; Bellies win everywhere comfort is the priority.
The roster is growing fast, and the cats are leading the charge. Binx, Jenni, Lillibelle and Morgan the Grey Cat are all here at $11.99 each, with Miso the Siamese and Mango as $6.99 bag clips. Skylar the Unicorn carries the unicorn duties. And the star of the line is Lara the Capybara, who comes in regular size at $11.99 and in a Large at $69.99 for anyone whose capybara enthusiasm has outgrown the standard size. Ours keeps selling through, which tells you something about 2026.
Like every Ty character, each Belly has an official name and birthday on the swing tag. Binx was born on February 20, Skylar on May 22, Lara on May 22's neighbour, and yes, kids absolutely check whether a character shares their birthday. It is one of the cheapest bits of gift magic going.
Prices work the same as the rest of the Ty family: $6.99 for clips, $11.99 for regulars, more for the big ones. Party present money for something that will be slept on for years.
